Multicultural Director

The Multicultural Committee ensures the GSC is providing a welcoming and inclusive environment to our diverse graduate student body and identify key offices and groups the GSC can partner with to provide professional development, resources, and support to graduate students. The committee also connects graduate students with resources at the university and support the mission of community and inclusion of the Graduate Student Council.

 

Events Director
Bethany Akers, bgakers@olemiss.edu

The Events Committee plans and executes social and philanthropic events throughout the year, works with university administration to secure event space and approval when needed, and promotes events hosted on campus and in the LOU area that are of interest to graduate students.

 

Housing Director
Bruce Park, bpark2@go.olemiss.edu

The housing committee works to connect graduate students with housing resources, gather information on the housing needs of graduate students, and advocate for housing needs of graduate students to university administration and the city of Oxford.

Symposium Director
Sandip Rai, srai1@go.olemiss.edu

The symposium committee coordinates the annual GSC Research and Creative Achievement Symposium, fundraises money for awards and event costs and provides graduate and professional students support for professional development.
